1979 - Today

By: Amalie | Date Added:

Gunhild Stordalen, born in 1979, is a physician with a multifaceted career that spans various fields. Her contributions extend from advocating for sexual health awareness among youth to her dedicated environmental activism. Notably, she challenged the stereotype of women solely valued for their looks, having also worked as a model. Her work in sexual health education for young individuals stands out in a landscape often devoid of adequate information on such crucial topics. Gunhild's involvement as an expert panelist on "Juntafil," a show on the Norwegian national broadcasting network, provided a safe platform for youths to seek guidance and information about sexual health, fostering an open and informative dialogue. Beyond her role as an educator, Gunhild has been a longstanding advocate for climate change. In 2011, alongside her former husband, Petter Stordalen, she established the Stordalen Foundation, focusing on environmental preservation, including rainforest conservation and zero-emission initiatives. Her commitment to sustainability continued with the founding of the EAT Foundation in 2013, aiming to address the challenge of creating a healthy and sustainable diet for a growing global population, intertwining the realms of food, health, and sustainability. Despite facing personal health challenges stemming from systemic sclerosis since 2014, Gunhild remains undeterred in her pursuits. Her dedication to leveraging her economic resources to establish foundations that address pressing global issues like climate change is commendable. She stands as an inspiring figure, utilizing her influence to drive meaningful change while courageously battling her own health adversities.
