Date Added:

Guo Jingjing, born on October 15, 1981, in Baoding, Hebei, China, is a highly accomplished retired Chinese diver. She has achieved remarkable success throughout her career, earning multiple Olympic gold medals and world championship titles. Guo is renowned for her exceptional talent and skill in diving, particularly in the 3-meter springboard event. Guo's journey in the world of diving began at a young age when she took up the sport at just six years old in Baoding. Her dedication and hard work paid off as she quickly progressed, eventually joining the Chinese national diving team in 1992. Although she faced a disappointing setback during the 1996 Olympics, where she finished in 5th place due to missed dives, Guo demonstrated resilience and determination. The pinnacle of Guo's success came during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she clinched a gold medal in the 3-meter women's synchronized springboard alongside her partner, Wu Minxia. She further solidified her dominance by securing her first individual Olympic gold in the 3-meter women's springboard event. Guo's outstanding performances continued at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where she won two more gold medals and became the most decorated female Olympic diver at the time. Off the diving platform, Guo's personal life and social activities also attracted attention. She married Kenneth Fok in 2012, and the couple has since welcomed three children. Guo's incredible achievements, both in and out of the water, have made her a beloved figure in China, earning her the nickname "The Princess of Diving." After retiring from competitive diving, Guo remains an inspiration to aspiring athletes and continues to leave a lasting impact on the sport she dedicated her life to.
