Li Na is a former professional tennis player from China who made a significant impact on the sport. She reached a career-high ranking of world No. 2 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings on February 17, 2014. Li's achievements include winning nine WTA Tour singles titles, including two Grand Slam singles titles at the 2011 French Open and the 2014 Australian Open. These victories made her the first Grand Slam singles champion from Asia, male or female, and the first player from an Asian country to appear in a Grand Slam singles final. Li also had notable performances as the runner-up at the 2011 and 2013 Australian Opens and the 2013 WTA Tour Championships. Li's success on the tennis court earned her recognition as one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2013. She played a pivotal role in popularizing tennis in China, with millions of tennis players and fans following her career. Li's journey was not without challenges, as she faced hardships and personal setbacks throughout her life, including the loss of her father when she was just fourteen. After retiring from professional tennis in 2014, Li was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2019.
