Allene Damian "Ally" Walker is an American TV, film, and stage actor. She made her TV debut with the series ‘Santa Barbara,’ which was followed by lead roles in the short-lived dramas ‘True Blue’ and ‘Moon over Miami.’ Over the years, Walker showcased her versatility with different roles in TV series. These include her roles of forensic psychologist ‘Doctor Samantha Waters’ in ‘Profiler’ (which earned her two ‘Saturn Award’ nominations), ‘Katie’ in ‘’Tell Me You Love Me,’ ‘Agent June Stahl’ in ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ and ‘Gloria Sheppard’ in ‘The Protector.’ She simultaneously acted in big-screen flicks such as ‘Universal Soldier,’ ‘Singles,’ and ‘While You Were Sleeping.’ She wrote and starred in the TV film ‘By Appointment Only’ and wrote, directed, and produced the film ‘Sex, Death and Bowling.’ Walker also made her mark on stage, debuting in Alan Ball's ‘Five Women Wearing the Same Dress.’ She later performed in Nora and Delia Ephron's ‘Love, Loss and What I Wore.’ Walker is a child welfare and environmental activist and backs several such organizations. She has directed and produced the documentary ‘For Norman... Wherever You Are.’ Allene Damian Walker was born on August 25, 1961, in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to physicists James Joseph Walker and Louhannah (née Mann). Her mother was an attorney. Her father worked at The Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory Walker and was raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Initially, Walker wanted to be a scientist and obtained a degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She then started preparing herself for medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), during which she worked as a researcher on a genetic engineering project. She developed a keen interest in acting when she attended the Richmond College of Arts in London, England. However, she did not venture into acting back then and continued with her studies. It was not until she was discovered in a Los Angeles restaurant that she was cast in her first project. Walker made her professional acting debut with the 1988 American comedy–drama film ‘Aloha Summer.’ However, her scenes were deleted from the film’s final version. In early 1988, she became a series regular, playing ‘Andrea Bedford’ in the ‘NBC’-aired American soap opera ‘Santa Barbara.’ She starred as ‘Officer Jessica Haley’ in the ‘NBC’ crime-drama series ‘True Blue’ (1989–1990 ), as ‘Julia Collier’ in the 1991 TV film ‘Perry Mason: The Case of the Fatal Fashion,’ and as ‘Gwen Cross’ in the ‘ABC’ crime drama ‘Moon Over Miami’ (1993).
