Natalia Vodianova (also known as "Supernova") is a Russian model and philanthropist. Vodianova was born and raised in Gorky, Soviet Union (now Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) with her mother and half-sisters. She was discovered at 15 and achieved major success as both a high-fashion and commercial model. She is also well known for her extensive activism and philanthropy. Her sister Oksana, who has autism, faced major discrimination in Russia. Vodianova advocates for disability rights through her Naked Heart Foundation and is a member of the Special Olympics International Board of Directors. Vodianova is also a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, specializing in sexual and reproductive health. In 2015, she founded the app Elbi which encourages charitable donations. Vodianova has received multiple awards and accolades for this work.
