By: Aoife Mcguire | Date Added:

Julie Delpy is a French-American director, actress, musician and writer. Delpy was born in Paris to strongly artistic and feminist parents. In fact, her mother signed the 1971 "Manifesto of the 343", which advocated for abortion rights. At the age of fourteen, Delpy was discovered by director Jean-Luc Godard. This launched an impressive career with starring roles in The "Before" Trilogy, The Three Colors Trilogy, and "Killing Zoe." Delpy studied directing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has directed three original films and written screenplays, including for "Before Sunset." She is also a musical artist who contributes her original work to films. Delpy is an outspoken feminist and advocate for fair representation in media.
