Katie Horner joined KMOV-TV as a 4 Warn Meteorologist in January 2013. She is the 4 Warn Meteorologist alongside Robin Smith on News 4 at Noon and is part of the market’s only all-female newscast on News 4 at 5 pm with Sharon Reed and Jasmine Huda. Katie spent her younger days in Bellevue, NE. It was there that she experienced her first tornadoes, and developed her passion for the weather. She began forecasting the weather in 1989, when she began her career at WEAR-TV in Pensacola, Florida. In 1994, Katie moved to Kansas City and joined KCTV 5, Where she spent 18 years. Katie appreciates teaching children about the weather and has even written a book titled, "Brainstorming…A Creative Guide to Help Parents and Children through Severe Weather." Katie has been actively involved in breast cancer awareness through the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition to the Race for the Cure, you can find Katie emceeing or competing in countless 5ks, 10ks, and even a triathlon. She also enjoys skiing, snorkeling, trail jogging, and road cycling, Katie is looking forward to hooking up with some of the St. Louis bike groups and exploring the area’s back roads. Katie’s parents have lived in St. Louis for over 25 years and very active in the community, She is thrilled to be living close to them again and looks forward to making St. Louis her home.
