Emilsen Manyoma is an Afro- Columbian human rights activist. Manyoma was the leader of Comunidades Construyendos Paz en Los Teritories (Communities building peace in territories) which was a group based out of Buenaventura in the Valle de Cauca region where Manyoma was from. Emilson Manyoma was a critic of right-wing paramilitaries as well as mining and agricultural corporations. She fought for the rights of those displaced by drug trafficking, while also documenting murder and disappearances for the Columbian Truth Commission. Unfortunately in January of 2017, Manyoma was assassinated alongside her partner Joe Javier Rodallega.
