Yulia Liipnitskaya is a Russian competitive figure skater .She was part of the Russian team to win the 2014 Winter Olympic team. She started skating at age 4.Yulia became youngest Winter Olympic gold medalist ever at Sochi games In 2014.They called her a “ little legend who took Russian women’s figure skating to the highest level After a long stagnation”. She won in short programmer gold medal in Sochi at age 15, the youngest Figure skating gold medalist I 78 year, became the star of the show. She was embraced her after the Competition ,she was declared a master of sport the country’s highest sporting honor. Russian Commentators call her “tiny genius” and the future of figure skating. She battled through a hip injury To win Cup of Tyrol in Austria but than missed the Russian Championship with hip back injury. She already proved she has all of the qualities to be champion in the team competition. She came back with silver at the world Championship witch was her last major event. She became a Symbol of the Sochi Olympics for many Russians. She struggled to cope with fame, to accept anything Than victory, once leaving the arena rather attending a medal ceremony when she came second At Grand Prix competition. When you look at her two Olympics performances you see that her drive is Paying of The day before she left for Paris for 2012 Trophee Eric Bompard she twisted her right ankle during off ice training. She decided to complete and ended up winning first in the short program the Bronze medal. After being treated for anorexia. Her mother informed the Russian Skating Federation That she was ending her career after returning from Europe, where she underwent treatment for Anorexia. It was first official mention of her suffering from an eating disorder. She retired in the age 19 following a battle with anorexia. Russia has never won a gold medal in women’s singles. She beat out a big talent pool of Russian skaters for a spot on the Olympic team. Yilia Lipntskaya - steals spotlight in women’s figure skating. They was saying about her ”She is a star. Some star for long time, while other will shine to bright and burn out. She lit up everything.
