Alexya Salvador is a trailblazer from Brazil. She is from Brazil, a country where violence against LGBTQ+ people has increased tremendously. More than 380 LGBTQ people were murdered in Brazil in 2017 and 58 died by suicide according to the Guardian. The incredible thing about her is that she is a pastor, she calls herself the "first transgender shepherd of Latin America." She made history last year with other trans pastors from around the world in Cuba. She is a mother of two including a trans daughter and the first trans person to adopt a child in Brazil according to Al Dia. She is currently running for Brazil state legislature while inspiring many young transgender people in Brazil.
