Zoey Luna is an 18 year old Latina transgender activist, artist, and writer. She came out to her family when she was in the fourth grade. When she was 13 years old she began her gender transition but face bigotry and bullies along the way. She even faced discrimination from her school, who tried to expel her for using the girls bathroom. Her hard journey made her into one of the youngest leading transgender activists in the country. She was in many documentaries such as "Raising Zoey" and "A QuinceaƱera" which showcased her transition from male to female. In 2013 she helped fight for the passage of California's AB1266, a law that established a student's right to use facilities that correspond to their gender identity. She is an inspiring actress and model who continues to speak out for queers and many other civil rights issues. Luna is also leasing the #TransLivesMatter marches to fight against the murders of transgender women of color and talks about trans rights and issues especially those affecting Latina women.
