Nilita Vientos was a formal educator, writer, and a journalist. She was the first female lawyer who has worked in the Puetro Rico Department of Justice. Before, Nilita was an assistant Attorney General and was involved in one of the most significant cases that happened in the twentieth century, "El pleito de la lengua." Nilita has published many articles in newspapers and magazines in Puetro Rico and Latin America. Nilita was also very fond of education and used to teach seminars and courses about theories of novels in the comparative literature department. Nilita Vientos has contributed many cultural activites in Puetro Rico, and another one of the many significant ones was that she was the first female president of the Puetro Rico Athenaeum which she served from 1946-1961. She had also served as the first president for the PEN club of Puerto Rico and ProArte Musical. Nilita has published "Introduction A Henry James" in 1956, "El Mundo de la Infancia" in 1984 along with the many books, articles, and magazine she had published.
