Sheri McCoy is the CEO of Avon and was former vice chair-man for Johnson & Johnson for 30 years. Avon the company has been here for 132 years since 1886. Sheri had also appeared in the Fortune's list of most powerful women in 2015 and she was ranked 49. Before she was at Johnson & Johnson, she overlooked the whole pharmaceutical business which also included Neutrogena. She also serves students as well for their interests in science, technology, & Engineering. She is in the board of directors for FIRST (For inspiration and recognition of Science and Technology) for students who are interested in having a career in engineering and technology and also previously attended Rutgers University, she is a member of the Rutger's University President's Business leader's Cabinet. Sheri is going to step down from AVON in March 2018, she received criticism from the shareholders who are the lead investor's that own 3.5% of the company, Shah Capital, Barington Capital Group, and NuOrion Partners, they stated that they need to find a new CEO and Avon need's to preogress. While these shareholders invested in the company, there was not any improvement, so they suggested to move to a more strategic approach which was to increase sales. At that time, Ecommerce was becoming increasingly popular, and rivals such as Estee Lauder and Revlon were using it, but Avon didn't start that process yet when both of those companies did. "We are going digital, we think that's the future, that's where direct selling needs to go," Sheri stated, the Avon.com site took 10 years to built and has many features such as many images and videos that gives beauty tips and recommendations. Previously, Sheri attended Princeton University and earned her master's degree in chemical engineering. Sheri had ran Avon since 2012.
