Her artistic sensibilities and understanding of youth culture laid the foundation for her versatile career. Vashtie broke into the entertainment industry as a music video director, becoming one of the few women of color to excel in this space. She directed music videos for top artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Solange, and Joey Bada$$. In 2008, Vashtie made history by becoming the first woman to design a Jordan sneaker.
