Two time Oscar nominee and Tony Award winner Madeline Kahn was a brilliant actress, comedian and singer. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Madeline moved to New York City and became interested in acting. With with a degree in speech therapy from Hofstra University and after a brief career in teaching, Madeline began auditioning for professional acting roles. In addition to award winning theatrical performances, Madeline was cast in a string of movies. These included Oscar winning Paper Moon, which Madeline was nominated for an academy award. Madeline starred in a number of Mel Brooks classics including Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and High Anxiety. Her performance in Blazing Saddles was selected in the top hundred of best performances of all time. Madeline continued to act on the stage, television and screen until her untimely death in 1999. With her exquisite sense of comic timing, Madeline will always be remembered by audiences for years to come.
