Quvenzhané Wallis is an American actress and author who made history as the youngest actor ever nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress category. Born on August 28, 2003, in Houma, Louisiana, Wallis was just five years old when she auditioned for her breakout role as Hushpuppy in the critically acclaimed film Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012). Her raw talent and captivating performance earned her an Oscar nomination at the age of nine. Following her groundbreaking debut, Wallis went on to star in several projects, including the title role in the 2014 adaptation of Annie, which showcased her singing and acting versatility. She has also released several children's books such as A Night Out With Mama, which is about her night at the Oscars with her mother.
