Mahsa Rostami can best be described as a courageous, socially-minded and committed Iranian actress. She is best known for her work in the film The Seed of the Sacred Fig. In it she plays Rezvan, the daughter of an investigating judge who makes life and death decisions for the oppressive Iranian regime. Her portrayal conveys the essence of the younger generation's eager struggle for freedom. As a direct consequence of her work, Rostami lives in exile. Her sacrifice speaks volumes about the commitment of Iranian women to their people's cause to achieve social justice.
