Karen Fukuhara is a talented Japanese American actress best known for her role as Kimiko in the hit Amazon Prime series "The Boys." Born on February 10, 1992, in Los Angeles, Fukuhara has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry with her compelling performances and natural screen presence. Growing up in Los Angeles, Fukuhara had a normal childhood outside of show business with an interest in Karate, becoming a brown belt before she went to the University of California, Los Angeles. Fukuhara got her start in the entertainment industry in middle school very briefly when she was cast as a host for “Movie Surfers”, a short-form entertainment news program on the Disney Channel. In college, she began to venture into media working as a sports reporter on NHK, a Japanese broadcasting station while perusing her Bachelors in Sociology with a minor in theater. In 2016, Fukuhara made her film debut as Katana in the DC Comics superhero film “Suicide Squad”, which was released in August 2016 following up in 2019 starring in the film “Stray” playing a role as Nori, one of the leading cast members. She has also done multiple voice acting roles to add on to her catalogue. In 2019, Fukuhara’s career reached new heights with her role as Kimiko Miyashiro, in the Amazon Prime series "The Boys." Based on the comic book series of the same name, "The Boys" explores a world where superheroes are controlled by a powerful corporation and often engage in corrupt behavior. Kimiko, one of the members of the boys, becomes a central character in the show's critique of self-hate and trauma. Fukuhara's portrayal of Kimiko has been praised for its emotional depth and passion, making her one of the top three fan favorites in the whole series.
