Fidan Ataselim is a Turkish feminist activist born in 1988, Turkey. Ataselim is the founding secretary of We Will Stop Femicide (WWSF). This is a platform that advocates and focuses on femicides in Turkey in order to guarantee women safety. Before she took part in this establishment, she studied political science and international Relations at the Istanbul University. The WWSF has been the target of various conservatives due to Turkey withdrawing from the Istanbul convention. This convention is a prominent treaty on gender-based violence. Due to this, Atasleim as well as members of WWSF argue that femicide has increased significantly since Turkey's withdrawal. Nevertheless, Ataselim's determination to the platform and in making a difference never faltered. Despite attempts to have the group shut down, and despite being detained by the police for protesting, Fidan continues to make an impact within the WWSF. Ataselim was quoted as one of the world's most inspiring women in The Gaurdian in 2022 and just recently, she has made significant notice as she was noted as a prominent gender equality advocate.
