Khulood al-Zaidi a women's right activist and educator from the small town of Kut, Iraq. Her story was covered as a part of the Fractured Lands story in NYT Magazine. Despite being from a war torn country, Khulood has remained committed to her belief that Middle Eastern women she be educated and have rights. In the past 15 years she has moved from country to country unable to return home in fear of being punished by ISIS.
