We all have amazing women in our lives who provide care and love us deeply—our mothers, grandmothers, teachers or mentors. The woman who has inspired me is my lovely grandma.  She provides for me when homelife is painful, always asking me questions about my situation, making dinner and offering support. Her care inspired me to be like her in my own personal relationships with friends and family. I’ve always loved the thought of providing for a woman who also reciprocates, taking care and looking after you and just being there for you. Many people today struggle with loneliness, lacking individuals like my grandma, who provides me with a sense of family and belonging. I’ve been visiting her a lot to keep her company since my freshmen year, and she’s grown attached to me emotionally, always wondering when I am coming over to share a meal and just spend time with her. Everyone enjoys having company when they’re alone—that’s what makes her so special to me. She inspires me to be more like her, a provider for family, friends and loved ones.
