Zandile Gumede is currently the Mayor of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality. Gumede was a former Executive Committee member, Chairperson of the Community and Emergency Services Committee, and former Ward Councilor. She had been working in different development organizations in Inanda, including Inanda Development Forum, a health organization, and etc. When Gumede was elected to Mayor, she promised in making Durban Africa a liveable city by 2030. Aiming at corruption and reaching the City's goal. Gumede is the Vice Chairperson of C40 Cities. With the Country's drought and frequent floods, Gumede addresses climate change as cruel, a time for change, and view women as an opportunity to become entrepreneurs.
